From the Director’s desk…

It is with great pride and joy that I announce the selection and Board of Directors’ approval of Denise Romero as the new Director of AAUW Preschool.

 

Miss Denise has been an integral part of our preschool for nearly 23 years, serving as a dedicated and beloved teacher. She brings a deep knowledge of child development, a strong connection with our families, and a thorough understanding of our program’s values and traditions. I have every confidence that under her leadership, AAUW Preschool will continue to thrive and uphold the high-quality standards it has maintained for over 70 years.

 

As I step down from my role as Director and transition into a new role on the AAUW Preschool Board of Directors, I am fully committed to supporting Denise through a smooth and successful leadership transition.

Dear AAUW Preschool community,

 

AAUW Preschool has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was fortunate to attend AAUW Preschool as a young child. Years later, both of my sons began their educational journeys here as well. I have lived in Waukegan my entire life and have been married to my high school sweetheart for 21 years. AAUW Preschool and this community, are truly a part of who I am.

 

For the past 22 years, I have devoted countless hours to supporting our children and families. This school has been my second home and my passion, and I am honored to continue building on the strong foundation established by Ann’s decades of leadership. Her mentorship has prepared me to work collaboratively with our outstanding team as we strive for excellence in all we do.

 

It is with great enthusiasm and deep commitment that I step fully into this role to lead AAUW Preschool into its next chapter.

As Director, I plan to enhance my leadership skills and ensure our school remains a model of quality early childhood education.

 

I am excited to lead our efforts in expanding and enriching our nature-based programming, strengthening our marketing and outreach, and meeting the day-to-day needs of our children and families with care and innovation.

 

I look forward to partnering with the entire AAUW Preschool community as we work together to exceed expectations and provide the very best for our children and families.
